How To Be a UX Team of One:Tips and Tricks for Successful User Experience Design With or Without a Team

Led by one of Adaptive Path's Experience Designers, Leah Buley.

This sixty minute virtual seminar explores the challenges faced by individuals or small groups doing UX inside organizations, and provides practical tools for working more creatively, efficiently, and collaboratively.

Who is this seminar for?

Being the person who speaks for the user in an organization can be incredibly rewarding. It can also be frustrating. The clear and easy path to a compelling user experience can be blocked by internal challenges great and small, and our stock tools -- wireframes, sitemaps, personas -- aren't always effective at doing the hard work of building support and elevating the profile of user experience. Do any of the following situations sound familiar?

  • You produce pages and pages of documentation that go largely unread
  • What's planned in design bears little resemblance to what ultimately gets built
  • Design solutions are undermined by others in the organization who don't see the value of UX

This workshop will encourage you to reframe how you and your partners see your value in your organization -- from being the keeper of documentation and deliverables toward being a facilitator of problem solving through design.

What will you learn?

  • Techniques for fast and effective ideation and design
  • Best practices for running workshops and review sessions with non-UX peers
  • Models for developing a user experience strategy
  • Dos and Don'ts for navigating internal politics

You will receive a confirmation of your registration which includes a link to this recording.
